I’ve been spending so much time playing my ukulele these days. Here are some of my favorite tunes, played by people who are not me.
Julia Nunes is a veritable YouTube ukulele sensation. I haven’t quite taken my playing to the record-then-listen-on-headphones-and-sing-harmony lengths that she’s gone to, but I play a mean Buttercup, if I do say so myself.
Danielle at the Sandwich is definitely my most-watched YouTube ukulele player. Quirky and fun, she hits the nerdy-girl-with-glasses-plays-ukulele nail right on the head. Her version of TLC’s Waterfalls is my favorite song to play.
Though I don’t play it myself, her rendition of Miley Cyrus’ classic Party in the USA is an absolute masterpiece.
Her take on Hall and Oates’ Rich Girl (with Tom Selleck watching from the couch) is also awesome.
The last video I’ll share is the hardest song I’m learning these days. The chord changes are fast and tricky and the strumming pattern (not my forte) isn’t easy either. But this song is so hilarious I just had to add it to my repertoire. I don’t play it nearly as fast as sweetafton23 does, though.
